Welcome to HypnoBirthing®
HypnoBirthing® is a complete birth education programme designed as a structured but informal class format. You will learn simple but specific self-hypnosis, relaxation and breathing techniques for achieving a satisfying, relaxing and stress-free method of birthing. You will learn why your body does what it does, as well as how.
HypnoBirthing® offers a safer, easier, more comfortable birthing for you and your baby.

HypnoBirthing® uses the renowned Mongan Method which has been helping mums have a safer, easier and more comfortable birth for over 20 years. It’s proven benefits include shorter labours, less need for medication, lesser probability of post natal depression and significantly fewer surgical births.

HypnoBirthing will help you release fears and anxieties you may currently have about giving birth; it will put you back in control of your birth. It doesn’t mean you’ll be in a trance or asleep. You will be able to chat, be relaxed and fully in control. You will always be aware of what is happening to you, and around you.

Benefits for your baby
Babies born with HypnoBirthing tend to be calmer and more alert at birth and experience less trauma as mum is more relaxed and in tune with her body so baby arrives gently at his or her own pace. Also, because mums experience a gentler, calmer birth they tend to have more energy to enjoy this special bonding time with their baby. Research has shown that babies usually have higher Apgar scores (this measures how well your baby is doing immediately after the birth and five minutes later). HypnoBirthing babies also sleep better and feed better.
Dads are important too
Another benefit of HypnoBirthing is that partners are central to the birthing process, working with you on the techniques that you have both learnt during the classes to help you stay calm, relaxed and focussed throughout.
HypnoBirthing Classes
There is a choice of classes to enable you to choose the method that suits you and your partner.
Small Group (a maximum of four couples in a group)
Classes are held at the Rainhall Centre in Barnoldswick one evening a week for five weeks. The price is £250 per couple and enables you to share experiences with other parents-to-be in a friendly, informal setting whilst following a structured and informative programme.
Individual Class
A private class for you and your partner held at dates and times convenient to you. Another advantage is that in addition to covering the full HypnoBirthing® programme, I am able to tailor each lesson to your own individual needs. Dads-to-be often prefer this method and feel more relaxed and at ease in the privacy of your own home. This option costs £325 per couple.
Share with a Friend
This has the best of both worlds - you get one-to-one tuition for you and your friend and your partners and you can share experiences as you learn the techniques together. Again this can take place in the privacy of one of your homes with a choice of dates and times. This option is available for £275 for each couple.
